Fashion decay

I found the abandoned (1998) Orlando Power Station in Soweto many years ago, but was never able explore it as it was heavily gaurded day and night.

I even attempted going there on Christmas day but the gaurds surprised me and as usual told me to leave.

After sometime, and help from a secret government service (lol) I managed to get a permit from the building owner to shoot there. Even the bungee operator from Orlando Towers could not believe I managed to get permission.

The gaurds though soon warmed up to me and gave me a very informative guide around the place and its numerous floors.

The one gaurd spoke of a graffiti artist who fell into metal polls protruding from the ground whilst he was there one night, and got seriously hurt.

I invited three models, of which one chickened out last minute. With my luck, I chose the coldest day (literally) in 2011 and the nearby cooling pond only made matters worse, nevermind the wind-chill-factor.

I'm sure goosebumps can be seen in most of these pics. Sam later mentioned that it took her several hours of sitting in front of the heater to just get warm again, talk about chilled to the bone.

Jina in the woods

This was a shoot I did with Jina Min earlier this year in the Klipriviersburg Natrure Reserve.
Jina at the old stables. I really struggled with lighting here for some reason.
Our intention was to do an Indie styled shoot, but plans changed after Jina showed me this PVC skirt which I paired with this cute little top. Again, I am sorry Jina.

I loved the look of this PVC skirt and the little racy top with these heels.

Thanks Ronwyn-Lee Jarret for doing make-up.

Rozi lands up in trouble

Roller Derby girl, Rozi Cheeks contacted me recently and asked if I would do an experiment shoot she had in mind. The idea was to combine a burleque theme with those of BDSM.
This was my favourite photo from the day. She looks like a painting hanging from the wall.

Shari-Lee

I met up with Shari-Lee in February to take a few modelling pics for her modelling portfolio

This was her first shoot.

We found an awesome cage that I just had to use for one of the photos.

Love the ear-rings, sunnies and dress. I waited for a breeze and Bam, took the photo! Not crazy about the dappled light but it works.

Somewhat of a glamour shot.

Rogue light meets a Samantha moment

I did a fashion shoot with Samantha-Jayne Broadhead a couple of weekends ago. I seriously wanted to experiment with my new Rogue flash gels and found a nice location for the shoot.
I used a green gel behind the couch and a red one in the lamp. In hindsight I should have moved the table closer to the couch.

Changed the green gel to a blue one for better effect.

I loved the Forever New leotard paired with a beige belt.

We decided to quickly grab a few photos outside moments before the sun slipped under the horizon.
